Curly Girl's self portrait

My daughter did a self portrait Tuesday night. She was so cute when she brought it out for me to see. It took her about an hour.....mainly because the hair took 30 minutes! She paid a lot of attention to detail with the curls.
Here is a close up...

I asked her how she got started and wasn't surprised when she said "Oh mommy, I just pressed my face to the page and put my finger where my nose was!" (the delight of 11 year old ingenuity...)

This first self portrait is lovely.
Her forehead isn't that high...and her hair is fuller and not so long....but isn't it lovely?
I can't wait to see how her talent and skill develops over the years.....here she is holding the portrait and trying not to smile!

Oh how I hope she continues to love drawing.....her gift is such a blessing!

Hey Yarni gras! OK, your daughter is seriously talented. I have a budding artist as well. My girl is eight years old, and loves to draw, paint, etc. It's so exciting to see the gifts God has given them, isn't it?
Hey, you're one talented lady! Thanks for stopping by my blog!!

Wow! Great job. I can't draw realistic people and I'm thirty something! I'm impressed but not at all surprised. Curly Girl is so talented!
