May's Toy Drop

We dropped this little turtle at our local library! The librarians do NOT like you to do that so we had to go in and out quickly.

We put it on a low book shelf in the children's section. I have no doubt it will be found soon!

I used THIS pattern....but I did not use her pattern for the legs as I wanted mine to look like a sea turtle's flippers. I didn't jot down what I did...sorry!

Your turtle is a cutie! Our library does not like us to drop toys their either. They told us it is a felony! I can just imagine myself in jail telling people I'm a hardened criminal because I left a toy for a child in the library lol.

A felony!?!?! Get outta here!

Val, has your library told you why? It's such a sweet thing to do! Why are they getting so bent outta shape?

Then again, some of the meanest people I have ever met were people working at our local library! Seriously! Mean.

BTW, the turtle is very, very cute!

WOW I never heard of such a thing why can't you leave toys at the library and it being a felony. I'm just blown away. Has our world come the place where every act of kindness must be a bad thing.

I sure hope it isn't illegal, because I am a librarian and I've dropped a few toys at my workplace! We have nice librarians here, I promise...and I've never gotten caught...

I got caught the first time. It isn't actually illegal here, they just don't like it.
The librarian says it 'looks suspicious.'
She said if I wanted to drop, I'd have to make enough toys for all the children and bring them on story day. (which kinda defeats the purpose of it being anonymous!) That is why I only drop at the library once or twice a year...and usually only if it is raining!

That is odd that they don't like you to drop at the library. It seems like the perfect place as it's filled with children who would love to find this package. Nature Girl loves turtles! The turtle is adorable though I do slightly cringe when I see a turtle. Nature Girl and I watched a co-worker's tortoise last summer. It wasn't at our house for 16 hours and it died! I felt terrible and I think I'm scarred for life!!! Though I know we weren't responsible for it dieing, I can't look at turtles without remembering.

How cute! Yes, I know it'll be gone really quickly!
Why is it a felony to leave a toy at a public library? I don't understand the reasoning behind it...has the world gone mad? No, don't answer that - it has gone mad!

You wouldn't stand a chance in my local library - the kid section is right next to the desk.

Maybe they've had large-scale fights break out between kids scrapping over who gets to keep the cute toy..

I adore the toy drop idea. I leave books for people in waiting rooms all the time. With a note that says - take it enjoy it pass it on.
