goings on...

During a doctor's visit last week, we came to the conclusion that Matt has outgrown the examination table...

Since we were there, I made a toy to drop. I love dropping toys at the hospital or doctor's office. Since kids are usually sick or just got shots, they could use a little "happy."

This time around, I made a Beluga Whale using a pattern from Planet June.

I also made a camera case up for Dean's trip to Israel. Our case is large and bulky but he needed something compact for his camel rides and such. He wanted something simple and sturdy.
Two strands of yarn held together made this case about as stiff as a board but it was still soft enough not to scratch anything.

ugly but effective...Dean insisted I make it in manly colors so he wouldn't have to "beat himself up."

Hi Val
ha ha love that funny picture of Matt. Love the cute whale too. I am sure some kid would have been so happy to take him home. The bag you knitted looks great and very masculine!

So sweet that Matt would pose for you...our tables are big people sized at the pediatrician, but these are cute!

HA! I was gonna say what Kerry said. How long do kids see a pediatrician? My kids haven't been to a pediatrician since they were toddlers. And the only time we go to the doctor is if they are sick or have fractured something, and thankfully that doesn't happen often. Do you have blood tests done for your kids? I've never done that but wonder if I should. That little whale is absolutely adorable. I bet one little kid was very, very happy. Everytime Sam sees me crocheting on something, he says I should make something for him, but I'm sure he would never, ever use it. I collected rocks on my walk today and he just rolls my eyes at my little crochet covers for them. :) Have a great day. Tammy

Hi. Thanks for your comment on my blog.
I bought some pin cushions from Rachael - her blog is...
clevercheshirecats.blogspot.com
I asked her if I was able to buy the pattern but she didn't have time to write it out unfortunately.
I was so eager to make one that I figured out the pattern myself. Rachael does know I've made some pin cushions!
Perhaps you could tell Rachael I sent you over to her re the pattern? Let me know if you have no luck!

Not sure which is the signal he is too big for the Pediatrician, the long boy on short table or cell phone in hand texting while sick! Cute blog, and a hubby with a sense of humor to offer blog material is always good! Beat himself up indeed!
