Trick or Treat!!!!
I joined Christine's Trick 'r' Treat.
The swap requirements were to create or buy 2 treats and 1 trick...no candy allowed.
Here is what I sent:
A cyclops eye 'stress reliever'....I made this around a regular stress ball.
The kids loved it.
I think I'll make more of these when I find some stress balls on sale.
my 'treats'.....a cute kitchen towel with skeletons on it....and a pumpkin I embellished with pretty glitter...
We had to individually wrap and label each item.
When Christine got everyone's stuff, she mixed it all up and sent back 2 treats and 1 trick!
Here is what I got....a sweet crocheted flower for my hair:
this sweet card that I put on my Halloween tree...
and this cute coffin.....with a ghoul inside that SCREEAAMED!
And his eyes glow! Isn't he cute!?
it was so loud that Ginger and Mojo came running in from out in the family room....they had to check out what was making all that noise!
Then Christine included a WONDERFUL assortment of paper treats, including confetti, ribbon, stamps and BINGO!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!!

Flashback Friday and an apron swap!
We love the movie "Hocus Pocus!"
We watch it EVERY year....several times during the month of October. I remember when the kids were little, they always got so EXCITED when this song came on!
I was in Marcel's "Spooks, Rattles, Pots and Pans" Apron swap.
Look what San-Dee sent me!
All sorts of goodies for my Halloween buffet I do for the kids..........and here is a close up of the GORGEOUS apron:
Thanks so much San-Dee!

Happy Anniversary
Happy Anniversary to us! 15 years and counting!
We've had our share of sorrow and elation
We've been serious at times... and seriously silly at other times
He loves that I am not clingy and that I am independent (he calls it spice)
I love that he loves me for who I am...I didn't have to 'change' a thing.
I love you honey!

One "WICKED"-LY generous swap
I was Christine's partner in altered art junkies "WICKED" swap.
Christine TOTALLY spoiled me...this box was like Mary Poppin's carpet bag...stuff just kept coming out!
Since my dining room table was covered in craftys, the only place big enough to spread it out was on my bed.
I was really blown away by her generosity!
a vintage style cone filled with candy
a creepy skull box and a bird on a pumpkin...
a sweet witches hat on a stand...
some scary music, toe tags and a morgue 'slip'...heehee!
a tray of ingredients for my witches cupboard....already put to good use!
This cute polka dotted apron...
and matching kitchen set, labels, an ice cube tray and a web tablecloth!
Thank you SO MUCH Christine!

Mummmy Armmmmy
Yesterday was a BUSY day.
First, I got up and put chili on in the crock pot.....so I wouldn't have to worry about cooking dinner!
Then, I made a little mummy army!
HAH! I made these mummy pins to go with some baked goodies for the teachers I work with.
They are SO cute.
if you'd like to make your own, here is the link.
After I made my little army, I put in this flick:
and baked and baked and baked!
First I made Frankie's Fingers....and the kids came running!
then I made 'candy corn' popcorn balls.....they turned out really cute. I got the recipe out of a little Halloween recipe book from a swap last year.
Then I baked some pumpkin bread muffins.
here are the teacher's bags...they wouldn't be complete without a little spider!
I couldn't leave the front office folks out of the fun so I made them up a little bowl...
Now I just have to be a good witch and deliver it all!

a new sketch
Curly Girl brought me this little sketch the other day.
I had to 'guess' who is was.....as if that would be hard!
She told me it is what she thinks she will look like when she is 'older' and ice skating!
I told her that it looks like a story book illustration......very whimsical and light.
I love the long limbs and fingers she drew.

Surprises!!!
Thursday I got "BOO-ED" at work!
It was a total surprise and it is driving me crazy that I don't know who to thank!
Look at this basket of goodies! (The basket was made up beautifully with those gorgeous orange and yellow streamers but my son tore into before I could snap a photo.)
It is loaded with chocolate candy, Halloween napkins, skeleton goblets, a skeleton kitchen towel and cookie cutters. Some creepy crawlies, a scarecrow, a pair of spider socks (which Curly Girl STOLE)...some trail mix which really looks good....NO RAISINS!!! All loaded into a giant Halloween bowl.
It really made my day because it was so unexpected.
Then, if that wasn't enough, I had THIS lovely surprise waiting for me on Friday when I got home from work!
The sweet and talented Nadine sent me a surprise through the mail!!!!
Look at this....a wonderful handmade beverage cuff and a WICKED pin which anyone would love to have! She knows that is my FAVORITE color green!
Thank you SO MUCH NADINE!
WOW! What a wonderful way to end a great week at work!

1 day trip, 2 pumpkins, and a BIG chair....
Saturday there was FINALLY a chill in the air!
It was a GORGEOUS day so we jumped in the car and took the kids to a pumpkin patch in Hammond.
First stop were with a few of the farm animals....this goat was trying to get into a lady's diaper bag without her knowing it....
here are a couple other critters.....
oh, and they had chickens too...
then we went and took pictures of us cutting up.....
Curly Girl making faces...
it was like pulling teeth to get Ripstick Boy in a photo...too many teenage girls were watching...
Curly Girl and I went and bounced awhile.....
we got tired quickly!
look at that SMILE!!
Then it was time to pick out a couple pumpkins....
Ripstick Boy searching....
he went WAY out in the field and found the perfect one...
Curly Girl found one too....
Afterwards, we drove to Amite, where Dean is from ..to drive by his old house.
Here is the High School he attended
his old home......with new people there!
this field used to be clear cut for pasture....the new owners planted pine trees....you can see by the size of the trees they've owned this place a lonnnnnng time now.
and check out this wonderful old Oak....next door......
Then, we did a bit of shopping in Mandeville on the way home.
Curly Girl used her OWN MONEY to buy something on sale........she is SO EXCITED to show it to you!!!!
A papasan chair!!!!!
She was thrilled and helped us rearrange her room so it would fit perfectly.
Clover is already happily napping on it.

.....and what are YOU doing here?
Oh, you must be here for the little party that is going on.
Well! Don't mind the ghosties and the headless horseman...let the lights show you the way and come inside...
don't be afraid of that crow, he can't hurt you.

This guy looks HUNGRY!
A couple of goblins will be your hosts tonight so don't be shy......

If you look real close, you can see Cinderella's pumpkin.
Just add magic!
My trusty book of spells must have something you can use...and I have a nice assortment of troll's eyes....good for what ails ya.
and on this shelf.....some pairs of "Peeping Tom's"peepers...those naughty boys just don't learn! (well, they do now!)

A bottle of 'Nightmare'....for after the party...click on the photo to read the directions....
Now, speaking of party.....I must get ready to go to the NEXT one myself.
Afterall, I'm not the only ghostess out there........but first, look at the lovely baubles I'm going to wear...
