WEIRD...I KNOW...But when you live in the south, you see lots of frogs and lots of toads.
Big toads, little toads...tree frogs, water frogs....the list goes on.
Inevitably, you see a lot of DEAD frogs too...many the victim of crossing a street.
So, my creation for this week's challenge is this little ditty:
Barnaby Toad
Barnaby Toad
Was crossing the road
A crown upon his head
One little slip, one little trip
And he knew he would be dead...
Barnaby Toad
While crossing the road
Tried to catch a bug
With a frown, he landed down
And turned into a toad skin rug!
Poor, poor Barnaby...we see a lot of them after the rain...

Does it ever worry you that sometimes you hang out on the dark side? LOL I love your little poem/story and Barnaby Toad. Sometimes you just need to hang out on the dark side.
Cute and awful at the same time. LOL! We get them here after the rain too.
Ha! I don't know whether to laugh or be totally disturbed. :/ I remember the frogs well. When we moved to TX, I think I was about 9 and my brother was 7, there were tons of them around the building we were moving into to at the time; he picked one up and through it as high as he could up into the air -- when I heard the splat, I was totally, totally freaked out. Ugh! Sometimes in Louisiana, we would be driving after a rain and they would just be covering the roads with no way to avoid them. Poor frogs! Poor Barnaby! :) Have a fab Friday! Tammy
