Thankful Thursday

Last Wednesday while I was prepping for Thanksgiving, Matt was out practicing basketball by himself, getting in a little alone time.

After about an hour, I noticed a change in the sound of the basketball on the concrete...so I peeked out the window.
I saw 3 little boys out front....no sign of Matt. I stepped outside for a better look and saw him lowering the goal so the little boys could play. He turned and saw me and gave a sort of sheepish smile and walked over.

I asked him who they were...."No idea, but they wanted to come play" was his reply, so he let them. He played with them for about 2 hours....helping them, working with them until past dark.

You know, some days God just lets you know you've been doing a good job raising your kids....and this was one of those days.

I am just so thankful that He has guided me with this most important job.

Please tell your young Matt that the moms of little boys who show up on people's driveways and grab the attention of the older boys surely do appreciate those older ones....without realizing it, they have taught a very fine lesson to the young ones...it's a special pay-it-forward kind of thing that keeps on going!
What a wonderful thing to be thankful for!!!

I love when we see little glimpses of the adults our kids will turn into. I've been reading your blog for a bit now and it's been fun watching your kids grow up. A bit too fast for you I would imagine.

Loved your story. Sure makes a mom proud doesn't it? I love to see the 'giving heart' show in my children!

I looked for the "Follow" button on your blog, but it's not coming up. I will definitely check back later and see if it is!

I loved this little story! What a nice boy you have:) I am always amazed to see older kids (somehow especially the boys) take time like that for no reason to help out some little guys. I have experienced it with my little boy, and I must say it really is a very big deal. It appears you have done a wonderful job.
