Mr. Turtle on his way to the pond but roads and paths aren't the safest for turtles now a days...

So Dean and Kaela helped him along...

We always point the turtles in the direction they are headed....if you don't, they simply double back.  Quite stubborn little critters.

Happy and safe :-)
We had a snapping turtle (a very directionally challenged one too), outside our house over the weekend ..... he/she was very dry, and the boys weren't home !!!
Thank goodness for buckets !!! Eventually got it to get in the bucket, so that I could take it too the pond ..... the shrieks of the little boy and his mom who were watching, were quite funny !!!!

Oh, that's good he's safe. We have turtles crossing our roads (which are extremely busy) as well. It's frightening to watch as car come upon them and quickly adjust their wheels to straddle them. Even the big Mack trucks attempt to avoid hurting the little guys. The turtle pull into their shells for the hair-raising experience but most make it to the other side, thank goodness.
