Mosaic Monday

Last week I was busy making this:

which Leo used as a throne for several days...

and as a stalking post!

I used broken Fiesta ware plates, flat sided marbles and 1 large set of Mardi Gras beads to make it.

After making any mosaic, I always think of things I could have done differently. I was tempted to make the entire thing out of just the turquoise color. I wish I had...but I'm still happy with it.

Here is a close up of the bowl and spiral...

Oh, and see that cute little turtle? Got it for a buck at Hobby Lobby on clearance.

Here it is in the yard...sorry for the hazy photo but we've had tons of rain...with more on the way.

That's funny, Leo using it as his throne, but that's a cat for you - that little turtle looks so cute in there. Nice job!

I love it -- the color is fabulous! What a unique blending of materials. Why is it cats are always interested in something new? Jingles is either scared of new things or wants to try them out right away. Best wishes to you for a great week ahead. :) Tammy

Wow! Another beautiful mosaic. The turtle is adorable. I think I better get off my butt and try my hand at mosaics. Looks like it could be loads of fun and a bit messy. Just what I need sometimes.

So pretty!! I want to try my hand at mosaics so bad, but I have a truckload of other craft/art supplies that I need to work on using up.

Wow, great job! I love the colors in the bird bath. With Leo sitting in it,
I'm not sure how many birds you will attract.

Love that little turtle!

Oh my goodness you have done an awesome job on your birdbath! I can see why Leo wants to claim it for his own!!!

The turtle is such a neat addition!

I have 2 huge boxes of broken china pieces that I keep just thinking I will do something like this someday!
