I finally took down my Year of Enchantment tree this past Saturday.

And Suki helped.
Sort of.

First, she tried to squeeze her little body into the box with the ornament compartments. Even a wee little 8 pound cat can't do that!



When that didn't work, she started stealing the ornaments.






She stole them when ever my back was turned....and even when it wasn't!




She even stole them after I had wrapped them and put them in their box!



She stole this one and dragged it into her kitty lair.





Luckily, I was quick and got them all back before she did any damage. In retrospect, I think it was the 'stealing' she liked....not the actual playing with them.

Kaela had a friend spend the night Saturday night.

They disappeared into her room for about an hour and when they came out, Kaela looked like this!


See what a flat iron and an hour will do to curly hair?



Of course, Matt had to come out and 'pet' her hair since it was straight......which drove her nuts!


Thankfully, Kaela loves her curly hair so it didn't last long....but it was pretty while it lasted!

Gunter and I shared breakfast this morning.



Nothing like kingcake and Starbuck's salted caramel hot cocoa to do a body bad good.

Fun in NOLA

My sister and her husband came over for a quick visit this weekend. The weather was GORGEOUS so we went into NOLA to walk around and just hang out.
We had plans to go to the WWII museum but never made it there.

We got lucky and ran into a wedding party as they danced down the street on their way to the reception....


While waiting for lunch at the Gumbo Shop, we walked through bubbles someone had blowing from a machine on their balcony.


While in Jax Square, I did my January toy drop....a toadstool pencil topper. Click on the link of you want the pattern.





We saw all the 'metal men' that were out. There was one other guy but he wasn't ready for a photo and it was getting late so we moved on.


We ate beignets with hot cocoa at Cafe Du Monde (don't we ALWAYS?)

Before leaving, we stopped and listened to Tanya and Dorise.....oh my gosh, these girls are talented!


They had their CDs for sale so I bought one.....now I wish I'd bought all four! My camera's batteries died as I was trying to zoom in to take this photo...oh well.

It was getting really cold so we went out to eat and then went on home. It was such a great day....I was sad to see it end.
