Lady Godiva Cowl

When I was in Destin this past April, my sister asked me to make something she saw for her.  She bought the yarn and I worked it up.   Took me 4 times to get it right!   I had to learn 3 new stitches which slowed me down.... but the main thing is that Osa kept snagging and running off with it!  She is a jealous one...hates it when I knit or crochet!

Isn't it lovely!

It is so pretty that I bought a skein for myself and will work it up over the summer....look at how it arrived from the seller on etsy:  Lavender and a stitch marker embellished the sutest tissue ever!

I also made another Chakra "necklace."  The colors are much more vibrant but I couldn't get the lighting right.

I have one more skein of Chakra left to work up and then I'll be on to another project.

I'm reading another Sandford book....oh.my.gosh.  I don't know how I missed this one.  I thought I'd read it already, so glad I hadn't!

For May's CAL squares I squeaked these out just in time...one a day would have been a much smarter choice than all at once!  I'm sure the summer will find them easier to keep up with.

Kaela made me this lovely painted Octopus box for Mother's Day.   

She painted it on an old cigar box.  The lid slides off and on.   We put pads on the bottom so it won't scratch the furniture and she signed the interior.  I just adore this box, the colors are totally unexpected.  Thank you "Queen Noodle!"

Dean and I went to a masquerade ball.  It was fun dressing up.....

with pretty shoes too...

I tend to be one that would rather have a pretty yard than a pretty dress but it sure is fun to dress up from time to time....

Dean.  Just in case you are reading this, I have a blue dress that needs to be worn somewhere too!!!!

May stashbusting....

I'm back in the blogging saddle and have a lot to catch up on.  I guess June will be the month to do just that.  I'll be posting a LOT so my family can see what we've been up to.


For May's craft along challenge,  I made this Gnome and Toadstool wreath:

I had been wanting to make another little gnomey wreath for my front door.   I dug around in my stash and found everything I needed....some of the toadstools were ones I made last year for Christmas.  I made the flowers using hot glue and ribbon.

This gnome takes center stage:

So they are needles this time around.  But the thing is....this book ROCKS!

This book is so fast paced that I have to force myself to put it down.  If you like Jurassic Park...run, don't walk to go get it.....

Friday Favorites

Once again.....I find myself cracking up at the various pictures of Osa I take during the week...

Let's begin at the "end" since it is Friday....corgibutt....just too cute for words!

 her "first kill"....hahahaha!  Batty lasted the last month of Mojo's life and the first two months we had Osa so it was pretty loved before she killed him.

And my favorite of the week.  Osa let me know in NO UNCERTAIN TERMS that she despised this harness!
