Happy Easter!

This weekend was full of lots of fun with my family. We played card games at home....for HOURS while the guys watched golf and other sports.

We went to Casa Garcia Friday night and then Saturday, we took everyone into the French Quarter for more fun and more food!

Here we all are at Mr. B's Bistro.....

Phil needed a bib........

and got his hands cleaned....professionally...

Curly Girl wore bread bag slippers...it was COLD in there.

I actually did ANTOHER toy society drop....couldn't resist since we were going to the Quarter.....I knew it would be picked up quickly!

And then before leaving for home, we all stopped by Cafe du Monde for some beignets....and LOTS of powdered sugar!

only Page managed to stay clean....

It was pretty crowded....lots of people eating lots of beignets!

Night out.........

Last night, my family came in from Florida for the holiday weekend. We went out to Casa Garcia and had lots of good food,

fun and.....

....margaritas!

We managed to squeeze in a toy society drop for fun.....

the little owl was gone when we came out.......

I hope he found a good home in time for Easter!

Curly Girl's Dali tray

Curly Girl had to do a report on a major artist. She choose Dali from the list....not because he was her favorite...but because he hadn't been picked!

We searched some of his works and although most were of his surrelistic period, she found one she loved of these butterflies....

Here is her tray.....

In researching Dali, we both learned lots of really interesting things about the man and his art. The main thing she learned in studying his method is that he liked to surprise the eye by reversing shadows...you can see how the shadow is lighter in the corner and gradually gets darker...

Toy Society drop....

I made this polka dotted birdie for the Toy Society drop this month.

I dropped it off in a children's bathroom at the local athletic club where I work out.

I hope someone rescues her in time for Easter!

Happy Herbs.....

For Christmas this past year, Dean gave me a large trough for my herbs. We haven't had the time to create my little herb garden so he thought this trough would be perfect to 'hold me over' until we got to it! Let me tell you, it is HUGE!

We filled it halfway with empty plastic bottles, then added some good gardening soil. I filled it with basil and so far, they are filling in nicely.

Our other herbs survived the winter and are happily filling out their pots...

and our tomatos and bell peppers are off to a good start too...

I've already harvested some of these fresh herbs...in fact, I had to cut the basil back one time already so it will fill out.

New kid in town...

You know how it is when you've got your own group of buddies...
you hang out together....

maybe even have a slumber party...

or get together to watch tv on your favorite comfy chair....

but sometimes you can't keep your eyes on the tv...because they keep wandering over to look at the new kid....you know the one...the one your mom made you invite over.... but the new kid kinda creeps you out........

awkward, huh?

Fiesta for Cynthia!

My partner got her FIESTA apron package so now I can share what I made her...

I used Morgan Moore's ruffled apron tutorial and it turned out sooooo cute!
The bottom pink fabric had cute maracas on it and the first layered piece had FIESTA printed on it with pinatas!
I also made her a cute little crocheted sombrero and poncho for some hot sauce.

and I found a precious bowl at Tuesday Morning...so cute I bought myself one too!

I included some really cute cocktail napkins, some fun beads and 4 FIESTA type recipes
