I walked into the sewing room yesterday and saw THIS!
Apparently, Suki and Gunter have found each other...
Happy Valentine's Day!
Someone went to the orthodontist yesterday and got braces.......he is happy:
It'll be so good to see him smiling again but for now he is just REALLY sore! Someone else couldn't go to the dance last night because she was sick...she is sad:
At least we have this picture of her trying her dress on....
and to think, we found the CUTEST strappy sandals with a sweet heel to go with the dress.
Then, she spent 30 minutes a day EVERY day last week wearing them so they wouldn't hurt when she went dancing...such is life........*sigh*
We were in Barnes and Nobles the other day.
As we were walking up to check out, I was looking at all those little 'in a box' books. I'm sure you've all seen them. They are tiny and usually lined up near the check out. In this particular B&N, they were all set on their shelf at an angle which made reading the title difficult.I heard Matt come up behind me and whisper to Dean "Dad, look...why would anyone put out a rapist in a box?" Dean was like "what?" A RAPIST in a box?
Matt said "yea" and pointed to this:
He was so serious and seriously offended that anyone would publish something like that.
Of course, since I'm a mommy hack, I busted out laughing and yanked the little book up and pointed to the title. Matt turned a delightful shade of red as we all walked out the door....with the sales clerk laughing behind our back.....
Need I say more?
EEEEK!!!!!! I forgot to post this on my regular blog! Here is my YOE craft along ornament theme for February, so sorry its late! I hope some of you will craft along with us ornament nuts......
Gnomes are so enchanting.....grumpy happy little workers in pointy hats and shoes....with beards so thick you can't see their faces at all!
They go home to their cute little snow covered gnome homes and sit in front of the fire with a mug of warm grog.
makes me think of this postcard again...which made me think of our theme for this month....

February's theme: a "gnome home" ornament!
Challenge: Use a different medium that you usually do. Try something different!
Activity: go to see the Gnomeo and Juliet movie. You can always blame it on me :-)
I was playing on google for my newest YOE theme and came across these. I totally wish I could do this...even if just to go see the movie Gnomeo and Juliet.
you can find out about them here......but check out the trailer first...I'm taking Gunter when I go...I just hope he behaves!
I love Starbucks salted caramel hot cocoa but they no longer use insulated cups, at least not locally.
There is nothing quite like a $4.00 hot cocoa going cold before you take the first sip, especially when you only work 5 minutes away.
Yep, nothing says treat turn off like cold "hot" cocoa!
Which is why I made this little cozy.
I made it to keep things hot, not to keep my hands cool...so it is not a wrap.
It slips totally on the cup, including the bottom. I didn't want ANY heat escaping!
I even thought (briefly) about making it with a lid but decided fuzz in my cocoa wasn't that appealing.
I used wool yarn and just created a cozy around an empty cup I had. The little green stopper helps a lot too.
So, if you are crochet crafty and want to create one of these little guys, it is super easy to do.
I didn't write down the pattern but there are a TON of them online. The only thing I did is to keep an old cup to test it by. You want it to fit snugly.
